Find a view – Tick!

Sadly for us, having two young children, we decided that going abroad was probably not an option this summer. Both logistically and financially, it was out of the question. In fact we haven’t been outside of the U.K. for more than 5 years, since falling pregnant with Banana. Cue sad face, and feeling sorry for myself…

Happily, however, we just happen to live in one of the most beautiful countries in the world, in my opinion! So, instead of grumbling about the fact that we were staying in the UK for yet another year, I decided that I’d celebrate, by really taking in and appreciating all the beauty that the UK has to offer.

One of our bucket list aims then, was to find a view. One that really encapsulates the United Kingdom, one that I can say to my girls… “This… This is your country!” (Gosh I feel like I should have the national anthem playing in the background!)

I failed… I couldn’t find a view! What a mean is I couldn’t find just ONE beautiful view, it seems that wherever we’ve been this summer, we’ve been surrounded by gorgeousness and beauty! So instead of talking about one view, I thought I’d do a gallery post about our favourite views of the summer. (See what I did there!?)

First of all, I can’t talk about beautiful UK views without referring to our stunning coastline. We were lucky enough to get away to the Coast of West Wales for a week in June, to a beautiful little harbour town called New Quay. It really is a magnificently beautiful place. Here are our best views:image

Another landscape you must consider when thinking about UK views are our hills and mountains. This view is from the beautiful Brecon Beacons on our way to New Quay. Luscious green, with the peaks covered in cloud and a beautiful mountain stream:

You don’t have to go far to find beautiful places. Here are some of our favourite views from the various parks in our local area:imageimageimageimageimage

Then, of course there are the lakes:imageimageimage

And Gorges:

Amazingly, we are lucky enough to have this stunning view from our back garden:

It’s incredible how much beauty you can find in the UK. We are so fortunate to live in such a fantastically stunning country!

What is your favourite UK view?

Disclosure: These views all look so much more beautiful in real life. Unfortunately I am rather a poor photographer, with only a camera phone to capture with! 🙈😂

I would have the same dilemma as you. I couldn’t pin it down to one view. Some views take your breath away, others make you want to build a house on the spot so you can look at it forever. You have chosen beautiful locations and, more and likely, imparted some of that love to your children. Perfect. #CountryKids

I have to agree, sometimes there’s nothing more beautiful than a typical British View. You’ve managed to capture so much of Britain in all of your shots it’s fab, if you enjoy wonderful views you should come down to Cornwall, you and the girls would love it. The photo of the clouds rolling over the Brecon Beacons is beautiful.

Thanks for sharing with me on #CountryKids.

I know New Quay in West Wales very well, such a wonderful area to explore. I love views by the sea and by rivers or canals, captures our maritime history for me. Love local views too in the parks and gardens.

What a beautiful post! It really shows the beauty of our country. I am very proud of it (sometimes)! We rarely leave the UK and haven’t done for many years. We holidayed on the West Coast of Wales and North Norfolk Coast this summer and I think I would be stuck for choice too! And what a beautiful view you have just from your garden! #CountryKids

So many beautiful views from so many different landscapes. The UK is gorgeous, there is so much beauty to explore right on our doorstep and how lucky you are to have such a wonderful view from yours. We rarely go abroad (my eldest daughter is unable to fly because of her heart condition) but there is so much to see at home that I really don’t miss it. #countrykids

I couldn’t agree more. Don’t worry about your camera as you have captured all the beautiful spots and lovely memories made. 🙂 UK is such a beautiful place, it’s been 4 years now that we didn’t travel abroad as there so many beautiful places to see here first. 🙂
